Chronology
Here we give a brief chronology of the events in the Great War which involved the Magdalen men who were killed in action or who died from other causes. We also give contemporary comments which show how some of those remaining at Magdalen viewed the progress of the war. These largely come from the diaries of Clement Charles Julian Webb (1865–1954, Fellow 1889–1922), who was a philosopher of religion and who, from 1920 to 1930, was the first Oriel Professor of the Philosophy of the Christian Religion.
